Daman and Diu:
The union territories of Daman and Diu lie on the edge of the southern borders of Gujarat, in western India. Daman boasts of a rich historical heritage. How to get there:
Daman is just 160 km from Mumbai, 110 km from surat, 300 km from Baroda and about 400 kms from Ahmedabad. One can also enjoy a pleasant drive from Mumbai. Regular bus services are available from Vapi, Bhilad and Valsad. Local buses, unmetered taxis and tongas are also available from the railway station to other towns. Diu is connected by Vayudoot services with Bombay and Ahmedabad. Nearest railway station is Delwada (9 km) connected via Veraval (85 km) which in turn is the conveniently connected to Bombay via Ahmedabad. Diu is very well connected by road via Una (30 km), to Ahmedabad (495 km), Bhavnagar (225 km), Bombay (930 km), Daman (763 km), Sasangir (128 km), Rajkot (261 km), Somnath (87 km), Veraval (77 km). There are regular state transport bus services from Una, Delwada. Private buses and Auto rickshaws ply within the town.
